About Evanswood Community Church

Picture
We are a group of people who believe in the community in which we serve in Troy, Michigan. We are To Listen, To Learn, To Live, To Love, in order to bring forth To Life. We gather together in our community to encourage, to support, to share, to care and to be present with our community family in our lives.

We come together as a group of people who believe that we are better together than being individual. Rather than living life alone in our personal space, work place, houses and other individual activities that take place in life; we desire to be together because our belief is to be in community, in service, in unity and in love toward God alongside our neighbors.

The Gospel of Matthew states the words of Jesus explaining to a man of the law back 2,000 years ago to love God and his neighbor in the same way he loved himself.

“37 Jesus replied, “'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.’ (Deuteronomy 6:5) 38 This is the first and most important commandment. 39 And the second is like it. ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ (Leviticus 19:18) 40 Everything that is written in the Law and the Prophets is based on these two commandments.”

We, the community church, believe that loving God is to continue following in our faith in Jesus' teachings each day we journey this life. Here, we identify ourselves in Jesus our Savior.  Our Lord has created all things which is the goodness of Him to us.  God continues to create in us a newness that is only accomplished by His Spirit which dwells in each believer of the Word of God.

Our actions in the community is the result of Listening, Learning, Living and Loving God and neighbor in order to bring forth Life. Life abundantly which Jesus speaks in the Gospel of John in John 10:10:

Jesus speaks; “A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way.”

Come be part of the community in which we are all called to exercise our faith, hope, and love in this journey of life.
