Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Mark Coffman
Mark Coffman is a pastor who has been called to minister to the people in every community God calls him into while he journeys this life.
My first responsibility is to my family who is my lovely wife, Angela Hall Coffman, who has been by my side since for more than 20 years. We were married in August 1999. We have two handsome sons, Westley & Toby.
My second responsibility is to my family who continues to cheer, support and gather together on major holidays and occasionally throughout the year.
My third responsibility is to my community in and outside the church building. This is my passion, my love and the way God has wired my heart, mind and soul with giving me strength each and everyday.
You may be thinking where is God? You may be looking at the list and would think that the number one is God, right?
In all the above mentioned, there is the evidence in which God is in all three of my priorities. I consider these blessings that God has allowed in my faith journey in life.
God is most important in my life and always has been part of my journey. I was able to step into the presence of God at the age of 15 which took place in baptism in the Emerald Lakes in Troy, MI. My calling into ministry took place at the age of 17 at my home church in Troy, Michigan named Evanswood Church of God. I continued to explore the faith in Christ and was sanctified or the 2nd work of grace at the age of 20 which has continued to grow along the way with much avid flow of ups and downs.
My life took a turn toward education at Wayne State University with working in the field of education from 1999 through 2010 in Michigan & Indiana with experience in public & private institutions. I pursued my calling in 2004 by attending Seminary at Anderson University while teaching, ministering to youth & parents along with young adults in Indiana until 2011.
I continued to complete my Masters of Theology and stepped into a chaplaincy role at St John’s/St. Vincent’s/Ascension Health with hospice care. Along with that, I worked in the fields of CISM throughout the hospital and community at large.
I was able to step into an Associate Pastors role at Florida Station in 2012 to 2015. This was before arriving to Troy, MI to be Lead Pastor of Evanswood Community Church to bring a vision of unity by diversity while aspiring the church To Listen, To Learn, To Live, To Love, in order to bring forth To Life for the Tri-County Area and local community.
My passion, prayer and partnership is to allow God to create a community of people loving God through by loving people each day God allows.
Feel free to reach out as I reach into the community to be a blessing by being the pastor of the community and Chaplain at Henry Ford Hospital.
Blessings to each one,
Rev. Chaplain Mark W. Coffman, M.TH, CS-C, ACP
