Pastor Mark Coffman
I am a pastor who has been called to minister to people in every community God calls me into while I journey this life. My first responsibility is to my family my wife, Angie, and our two handsome sons, Westley and Toby. My second responsibility is to my family who continues to cheer, support and gather together on holidays and occasionally throughout the year. My third responsibility is to my community in and outside the church building. This is my passion, my love and the way God has wired my heart, mind and soul with giving me strength each and everyday. You may be thinking where is God? You may be looking at the list and would think that the number one is God, right? In all the above mentioned, there is evidence in which God is in all of my priorities. I consider these blessings that God has allowed in my faith journey. God is most important in my life and always has been part of my journey. I was able to step into the presence of God at the age of 15 which took place in baptism in the Emerald Lakes in Troy, MI. My calling into ministry took place at the age of 17 at my home church in Troy, Michigan; Evanswood Church of God. I continued to explore the faith in Christ and was sanctified (or the 2nd work of grace) at the age of 20 which has continued to grow along the way with much avid flow of ups and downs. Post high school I first attended Wayne State University and began to work in the field of education in Michigan and Indiana with experience in public and private institutions. I pursued my calling in 2004 by attending Seminary at Anderson University while teaching, ministering to youth and parents along with young adults in Indiana. I continued to complete my Masters of Theology and stepped into a chaplaincy role at with hospice care at Ascension Health in Anderson, IN a local hospital. Along with that, I worked in the fields of CISM throughout the hospital and community at large. I was also able to step into an Associate Pastor role at our church in Anderson, Indiana. This was before arriving to Troy, MI to be Lead Pastor of Evanswood Community Church to bring a vision of unity by diversity while guiding the church To Lead. To Listen, To Learn, To Live, To Love, in order to bring forth To Life for the Tri-County Area and local community. My passion, prayer and partnership is to allow God to create a community of people loving God by loving people each day! Feel free to reach out as I reach into the community to be a blessing by being the pastor of the community and Chaplain at Hospice of Michigan in Macomb & contingent at Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield and Macomb. Blessings to each one, Rev. Chaplain Mark W. Coffman, M.TH, CS-C, ACP |
We are a group of people who believe in the community in which we serve in Troy, Michigan. We are To Listen, To Learn, To Live, To Love, in order to bring forth To Life. We gather together in our community to encourage, support, share, care and be present with our community family.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37 We, the community church, believes that loving God is to continue following in our faith in Jesus' teachings each day we journey this life. Here, we identify ourselves in Jesus our Savior. God continues to create in us a newness that is only accomplished by His Spirit which dwells in each believer of the Word of God. Our actions in the community are the result of Listening, Learning, Living and Loving God and neighbor in order to bring forth Life, and life abundantly which Jesus speaks to in the Gospel of John where He says, “A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way.” John 10:10 Come and join us with faith, hope, and love in this journey of life. |
